Natasha Alford has a remarkable career in journalism and media. She started her career as a teacher and then switched to journalism after earning a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She worked as a general assignment news reporter at WROC-TV in Rochester, New York before joining The Grio in 2016. She was promoted to Vice President of Digital Content in 2019 and began appearing regularly on CNN in the same year. She also launched The Grio’s first podcast, Dear Culture, in 2020.

Natasha Alford has also produced and directed documentaries that explore the history and culture of the Afro-Latino community in Puerto Rico.
