Sherry Holmes is a well-known Canadian TV personality who gained recognition as a builder and contractor. However, she is best known as the daughter of the builder and contractor, Mike Holmes. Sherry started gaining exposure after she became a part of her father’s construction crew, Make It Right. She first appeared on the Holmes Inspection and then on Holmes Makes It Right. She was so diligent and hard-working in her job and people admired her for that. And then, she started making appearances in other shows of her father alongside her brother, Mike Jr. And now, she also works towards the upliftment of women in this field which has left people intrigued about her. Sherry Holmes’ Childhood and Family Background

Sherry Holmes was born on June 21, 1987, in Ontario, Canada. She is Mike’s child with his ex-wife, Alexandra Lorex. If you didn’t know, Sherry’s family is a Catholic family. Sherry has two siblings, Amanda and Mike Jr. As it’s already known, Sherry’s father, Mike is a contractor and builder, and businessman. Moreover, he is also a television personality. While, on the other hand, her mother, Alexandra is a consultant and she is also a television host.

Sherry’s parents, Mike Holmes and Alexandra Lorex got divorced in 1993 when Sherry was just 6. Moreover, there were rumors saying that Mike’s business fell which was the reason for the couple’s separation. The rumors claim that their family started having a financial struggle which caused a recession in their home. And they got separated. According to sources, after Sherry’s parents separated, she had to live with her paternal grandparents, Jim Holmes and Shirley Holmes along with her siblings since her father was not able to provide for his children. Unfortunately, soon after, their granddad, Jim faced death due to an unfortunate accident.

Sherry Holmes’ Brain Tumor Diagnosis and Treatment

Sherry Holmes had to face another tragedy in her life when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor in the year 2002, while she was still a youngster. The tumor was discovered via a CT scan and she was diagnosed with it. Doctors were able to conduct life-saving surgery on Sherry Holme’s tumor in less than a week. Fortunately, the tumor was benign (non-cancerous) and Sherry made an incredible recovery. She was brave and strong throughout the ordeal and did not let it affect her spirit.

Sherry Holmes has had to persevere through more than her share of adversity to reach this point in her life. She is grateful for her family and friends who supported her during her difficult times. She is also thankful for her father, who taught her the skills and values of building and remodeling. Sherry Holmes considers her father as her mentor and hero.

Sherry Holmes’ Career and Achievements

Sherry Holmes followed her father’s footsteps and became interested in the building and remodeling trade. She joined her father’s construction crew, Make It Right, at the age of 16 and started working on the NBC series Holmes on Homes. She learned a lot from her father and his team and developed a passion for her work. She also appeared on other shows of her father, such as Holmes Inspection, Holmes Makes It Right, Holmes and Holmes, and Holmes: Next Generation.

Sherry Holmes is not only a skilled and talented contractor, but also a role model and spokesperson for young women who want to pursue a career in this field. She is a contributor and partner of Skills Canada and World Skills and acts as their motivational speaker.
