Who was Mouaz Al-Nass?
Mouaz Al-Nass was a Syrian-born munshid, a vocalist who performs Islamic devotional songs. He was the son of Shaykh Samir Al-Nass, a distinguished scholar from Damascus who earned medical degrees in Syria and the United States. Mouaz studied tajweed and fiqh under his father, as well as inshad and maqamat from other masters. He graduated from a Syrian institution with a degree in the management information system. He participated in several musical performances in the USA, UK, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia as a skilled vocalist and percussionist. He was known for his gentle personality, his love for the Islamic tradition, and his voice that moved many hearts.
What happened to Mouaz Al-Nass?
According to his friend Khalid Latif, Mouaz Al-Nass was admitted to the hospital last week for a severe condition. He did not disclose the details of his illness, but asked for prayers and support for him and his family. Unfortunately, Mouaz Al-Nass passed away earlier today in Houston, leaving behind his young children and family, as well as thousands of fans and admirers. His death has caused a great sorrow and loss for the Muslim community, especially those who benefited from his presence, his nasheed, his character, and his teachings.
